Year 6 Open Evening will be on Tuesday 30th September 2025. It will run from 4.30PM - 7.30PM. Talks will comment at 5.15pm, 6.00pm and 6.45pm

Miss Wilson Year 9 DT pupils inspired Memphis Lamps 

On Wednesday 2nd July Mrs Clark took a group of pupils from Year 7-9 to Middleton Hall to perform in 'Hull Gotta Dance'; a regional showcase of performances from Hull Primary and Secondary Schools as well as local dance schools. The pupils danced two of their numbers they have been working on in dance club this year. They behaved impeccably and performed brilliantly, and really enjoyed watching and supporting other schools too.

The Summer Showcase will take place on Wednesday 9th July 2025 at 5:30pm. Tickets are available to purchase on ParentPay!  

Congratulations to our Year 7 girls rounders team who won all their matches on Tuesday night in the Hull Active Schools tournament resulting in 1st place. The girls represented the school excellently and demonstrated superb ambition and teamwork. Well done girls!   PoT - Macy L

We welcomed the Challenge Cup on Thursday 3rd July 2025. Lots of pupils had the opportunity to have a photo with the cup. We had lots of happy pupils and staff.

Our Year 9 boys won the Yorkshire Plate final, 14-12 against a very strong Airedale Academy. An outstanding effort from all, we are all extremely proud of them!

Last week the Performing Arts department took the Year 9 BTEC Dance and Drama pupils to Hull Truck Theatre for the day to support them with their course work for Component 1: 'Exploring the Performing Arts'. The pupils met with theatre staff who discussed the responsibilities of their roles, as well as taking part in practical technical workshops whcih showed them how to operate the sound and lights. All sessions were informative and engaging and pupils came away with valuable knowledge to support their work for this unit.

Tyler has achieved 100% completion in Extended Learning this year, completing over 180 assignments in total. He has also maintained a 100% average score across all assignments, repeating each piece of work that has been set by his teachers until he achieved perfection. Well done, Tyler!

FINALISTS!! Huge congratulations to our Year 9 Rugby team who won their Yorkshire Plate semi-final by beating South Holderness 40-22! This result taking us into the final. Well done boys! MoTM - Jack.C  

Congratulations to our Year 7 boys football team who secured a 3-1 victory over a competitive SMC team on Wednesday evening. PoTM - Tom.B for his energy in midfield and well taken volley on his debut!

Celebrating Success in Holland On the second to last night of the Holland Football trip the pupils had their presentation evening. Awards for: • Coaches player • Players player • Best goal scored • Best sportsmanship Special mentions to our Winners Evie.T, Emma.D, Thomas.J, Eli.W, Dylan.BH, Lennon.F and Thomas.W. Very well deserved!

HAS Trophy Final Champions In a thrilling and hard-fought encounter, the Year 7 boys emerged victorious with a 3-2 win in the HAS trophy final. The team showcased determination, teamwork and resilience to edge past their opponents ASA in a closely contested match.  Man of the Match - Yousuf.H Special mention to Oliver.A for an outstanding save in the second half!  

HAS Plate Final Champions Year 8A team pick up their first silverware since joining Marvell with an entertaining and tight 3-2 win in the plate final. The boys thoroughly deserved it after going all year unbeaten!  Man of the Match - Henry.P who was a rock at the back winning everything that came in his path. Special mention to Lennon.F with two well taken goals to seal victory!  

Holland Champions Our pupils who attended the Holland Football trip in half term all came home victorious after 3/3 wins against the local teams. • Pitch 1 the Year 8 boys won 13-1 with 6 of the goals being scored by Thomas.W along with goals from Kondeh.A, Lennon.F, Ralphie.G and Archie.K. • Pitch 2 the girls won 6-0 with Evie.T scoring a hatrick along with goals from Lilly.O (x2) and Sienna.T! Finally. • Pitch 3 the Year 9s finishing the 100% win record winning 5-1 with goals from Thomas.J (x2), Logan.G, Eli.W and Fintan.D.

The Year 9 Team are incredibly proud of Layla C’s positive attitude and hard work. Her attendance during this challenge was outstanding and we hope she enjoys her reward. Attendance is one of the cornerstones of success here at The Marvell College and helps pupils to develop our core values of Ambition, Respect, and Courage. On Monday 19th May 2025 we kicked off our Transition Programme with an information afternoon for pupils with SEND and their families. Miss Parkinson and Mr Wray shared their top tips for a successful start to Year 7. Our Year 10 pupils then took pupils on a tour whilst parents had a question and answer session. We can not wait to welcome all of our Year 6 pupils to their Induction Evening on Thursday 26th June 2025, 4:30pm-7:30pm.

Awards Evening – A Celebration of Achievement On Tuesday 29th April 2025, we proudly hosted our annual Awards Evening – a memorable celebration, recognising the outstanding achievements, effort, and dedication of our pupils. It was a fantastic opportunity to come together as a school community to honour excellence in academics, personal growth, and contributions to school life. We were delighted to welcome our special guest speaker, Neil Hudgell, whose inspiring words encouraged pupils to aim high and believe in their potential. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents, carers, and staff who joined us for this special evening and helped make it such a success.
